A viable solution to limited capacity of battery storage and other storage systems is compressed air energy storage (CAES). CAES in salt cavern is a proven technology and is analogous to pumped-hydro energy storage system in terms of its applications, output and storage capacity. During periods of excess power, instead of pumping water from a lower to an upper pond, like in pumped-hydro power plants, in a CAES plant ambient air is compressed and stored under pressure in an underground cavern. When electricity is required, the pressurized air is heated and expanded in an expansion turbine driving a generator for power production. Our services include:
- Permit application preparation
- Geological investigation
- Reservoir simulation or cavern design simulation
- Well design, drilling, testing and completion
